Billings Equestrian is a professionally managed riding program that offers services to both dressage and western pleasure students.
The business is owned and operated by Samantha Billings Coatney. Sam is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist who has been coaching riders for over 15 years. Sam is known not just for her riding talent, but for her warm personality that makes every student feel special. Whether Sam is teaching a first-time rider or show coaching an experienced professional, her patience, sensitivity and knowledge shines through. |
Sam's program is in a welcoming, relaxed environment where riders of all ages always feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and making friends.
Sam's husband, Cyle, is a competitive team roper and their son, Colt Urban, is an enthusiastic (and adorable) young rider at barely age 2. Whether it's seeing Sam practice Grand Prix movements, 4-H kids riding barrel patterns, Cyle roping a fake cow or horses munching hay, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The barn is a vibrant place filled with excited students, friendly horses and good times. |

Sam began riding at age 5 and came through the USDF Young Rider Ranks. She earned Team Bronze at the 2008 North American Junior Young Rider Championships, was seated 10th at the Individual Level, and earned 4th Place for her Freestyle ride. Her personal experience with Young Rider requirements makes her especially well-suited for working with children, teens and young adults. Some students love to trail ride and hug a horse's neck, some have an interest in 4-H and Pony Club shows, USEF rated competitions or even rodeo, - no matter their interest, Sam has the experience, empathy and kindness to help them explore and discover all the joys of horsemanship.
