2020 and the New Year have presented all of us with many challenges when it comes to daily life, including the practice of our sports and hobbies. Billings Equestrian has been, and will continue to follow CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. We have had to adapt parts of our lesson format and institute additional cleaning procedures for our tack and equipment.
We do require masks for all students, parents and visitors and we ask that you limit the number of guests that are brought to the facility as we all work together during these challenging times. Billings Equestrian is available to answer your questions regarding our Covid-19 procedures, please feel free to text, call or email.
Lesson Scheduling
Billings Equestrian offers a range of lesson packages, as well as full training options
Lessons are available with Samantha Billings or one of two program assistants
Our program offers dressage, western and beginner jumper lessons.
All lesson scheduling is managed directly by Samantha; text messaging is the best way for current students to inquire about scheduling needs or changes
Lesson Format & Facility Use
Currently, lessons are 45 minutes in duration.
Due to Covid management, students will not be grooming or tacking up the horses in order to limit the amount of contact the students have with our equipment. Please understand this is the safest and cleanest way to operate the program at the time. We look forward to the day when grooming & tack up can be part of our student's experience again.
When you arrive, the student will come to the arena where your instructor and horse will be waiting for you in the appropriate tack.
The student will then ride 35-40 min. The additional minutes will be used to make sure tack is situated specifically for the client and for dismounting and returning to your vehicle.
If you are bringing a child please either remain in your car at all times or sit in one of the seating areas available by the arena. but please follow the 6ft distance rule at all times.
If you sit at one of the designated seating areas, please feel free to spray off your area with the disinfectant spray provided at each location.
We also ask that you limit your visiting guests during this time.
If you need to use the restrooms, please properly disinfect the bathrooms with the provided supplies before the next lesson arrives.
Personal Equipment
The SIP restrictions mean that “personal equipment” can no longer be shared between our students, therefore you must be responsible for bringing your own gear. This includes a helmet, riding gloves and a face mask.
As a reminder, a helmet is required to ride with Billings Equestrian
If you need to purchase a helmet here are links to affordable brands available through Amazon:
Students will be required to wear their helmet, gloves and a mask at all times while on the property
Instructors will make sure that the time in between each lesson is spent properly sanitizing the horses and tack so that each rider gets on the horse with clean and disinfected equipment.
